New in the docs
- Why your first commit asks for your name and emailYour first commit in Agentfly is refused with a message about a name and email. Nothing is broken: git signs every commit with its author, and your machine has never said who you are. Two commands, once, and it never asks again.
- Installing AgentflyOne click on Windows from the Microsoft Store, a .deb or AppImage on Linux, or one terminal command on either - and how to update or remove the editor afterwards.
- Every feature, explained: the full Agentfly tourAll twelve feature areas in one walk-through - what each group does, why it exists, and where its documentation lives.
- Agentfly vs VS Code vs Cursor: an honest comparisonWhere Agentfly matches the big editors, where it differs, and where it deliberately will not compete - written to be argued with.

How Agentfly works
- What an ad-supported editor owes youFour commitments Agentfly makes about when ads appear, what leaves your machine, and what you get paid — and how each one is enforced rather than promised.
- Why the ledger is append-onlyAn administrator who can edit a balance is an administrator who can steal from you. Here is how Agentfly makes that structurally impossible rather than merely discouraged.
- How targeting works without reading your codeAdvertisers want to reach Rust developers. Agentfly makes that possible with 45 tags and nothing else — no file contents, no paths, no project names.
Earning and advertising
- How you get paid, step by stepThe complete journey of one advertising dollar: serve, view, receipt, ledger row, balance - with the exact numbers at every step.
- Publish your first campaign in ten minutesSign in, name the account, create the campaign, attach a creative, fund it, go live - the whole advertiser flow, with what each step costs and when.
Comparisons
Editing
- Accept suggestion with EnterWith the suggestion list open, pressing Enter takes the suggestion instead of starting a new line.
- Auto-rename paired tagChange the name of an opening tag and its closing tag changes to match, by itself.
- Bracket pair colorizationBrackets get colours. The one that opens and the one that closes are the same colour, so you can see which goes with which.
- Check spelling in commentsMisspelled words in comments get a wavy underline, and the fix is one click away on the lightbulb.
- Close tags automaticallyType the end of an opening tag and the closing one appears by itself. Type a closing bracket and it finishes the tag you still have open.
- Code foldingCollapse a chunk of code down to one line, and open it again when you want it.
- Colour comments by intentStart a comment with !, ?, or * and it takes a colour. Start one with a second // and it fades, because that is code you commented out.
- Column selection modeDragging the mouse selects a rectangle of text - a straight column down the page - instead of following the words.
- Explain errors in plain EnglishConfusing error messages get rewritten into a sentence that says what actually went wrong.
- Indent guidesFaint vertical lines show how far in each line is pushed.
- Inline error and warning lensWhen a line has a mistake, the message about it sits right at the end of that line.
- Inline git blameBeside the line your cursor is on, it quietly says who last changed it and when.
- MinimapA tiny picture of the whole file down the right-hand edge, that you can click to jump.
- Multi-cursorPut more than one cursor on the page and type in all those places at once.
- Path autocompleteWhen you are typing the name of another file, it offers you the files that are really there.
- Render trailing whitespaceExtra spaces left hanging at the end of a line are made visible.
- Start new files from a templateA brand new file already has the boring first lines in it - the doctype for a web page, the main function for a C program.
- Sticky scrollAs you scroll down inside a long function, its name stays stuck at the top of the editor so you never lose track of where you are.
- Suggest words already in the fileEven with nothing clever available, it will suggest words you have already used nearby.
- Suggestions as you typeA little list pops up guessing what you are about to type, so you can pick it instead.
- TODO and FIXME highlightingNotes you leave yourself in comments - TODO, FIXME, HACK - get a colour so they stand out.
Finding your way
- BreadcrumbsA line above the editor showing the trail to where you are: the folder, the file, and the function your cursor is inside.
- Fuzzy file openOpen any file by typing a few letters of its name. You do not have to get them right, or in order.
- Global search and replaceSearch every file in the project for some text, and change it everywhere at once.
- Go to definition and referencesClick a name to see where it was made, or to see everywhere else it is used. A small preview opens under the line so you do not lose your place.
- OutlineA list of everything in the file you are looking at - its functions, classes, and sections.
- Symbol searchFind a function, class, or variable by name anywhere in the project, without knowing which file it is in.
Formatting
- Built-in formatterTidies your code for you - puts the spaces, indents and line breaks in the same places every time.
- Format on saveEvery time you save, the file gets tidied first.
- Lint diagnosticsUnderlines the things that are wrong, or look wrong, while you type.
- Organize imports on saveWhen you save, the list of other files your file uses gets sorted, and any it no longer uses are removed.
Understanding a project
- Draw trees with connecting linesLittle lines join each file to the folder it lives in, like a family tree, so you can see what is inside what.
- Point out classes nothing definesTells you when you have used a class name that no stylesheet actually defines.
- Point out rules that style nothingTells you when a style rule does not match anything in your project any more.
- Show the elements a rule stylesClick a style rule and see the things on the page it actually affects.
- Show the rules that style an elementClick something on the page and see every style rule that changes how it looks.
Languages
- Additional language serversTell Agentfly how to start the helper program for a language it does not know about yet.
- Debug adapter clientStop your program in the middle of running it, look at what every value actually is, and step through it one line at a time.
- Language server intelligenceA helper program that really understands the language you are writing, so Agentfly can offer accurate suggestions, spot mistakes, and know where things are defined.
- Tree-sitter highlightingColours the code by properly reading it, rather than by pattern-matching the words - so the colours are right even in tricky code.
The assistant
- Agent mascotsEach saved agent has its own little character - a shape and a colour - and its face shows how that agent's work is going.
- Agents working at onceHow many agents on the Agents board, and Team roles, may work at the same time. The rest wait their turn as Queued.
- AI chat workspaceA conversation workspace with searchable history, a live working block per answer, copyable code blocks, per-response actions, a jump-to-latest pill, and an interrupted banner with Edit prompt and Try again.
- AI edit approvalChoose how the assistant's edits reach your files: it applies them as it works and you can undo any turn (the default), or each turn's changes wait for you to apply them.
- AI file toolsThe assistant reads, edits and runs commands directly in your open project. What it does lands in your real files as it works, and every turn can be undone.
- AI TeamCreate named agents with their own instructions and models, then let a team divide a task - messaging each other as they work and sharing the project's memory - and bring its results back for review.
- AI usageShows your AI activity, daily streaks, tokens and estimated cost, model by model.
- AI workspace storageLimits how much disk space task copies use and how long finished sandboxes and rollback checkpoints stay.
- Chat history and memoryEvery conversation is kept in Today, Yesterday, and older groups, so you can go back to one. A strip at the top shows exactly what the assistant is remembering right now, and a button clears it.
- Connect a modelChoose ready models in Free · no API key, or use Bring your own key to connect a provider or named API endpoint.
- Continue terminal AI after limitsA detected terminal assistant can receive a literal “continue” after it says a usage or rate limit has reset.
- Custom endpointPoint Agentfly at any AI service by pasting its address - including one running on your own computer.
- Edit with AISelect code, press Ctrl+E and say what to change. The rewrite appears in place, highlighted green under the struck-out original, for you to accept or reject.
- Free AI in a minuteGet the assistant working for free: a free Google Gemini key, a model already on your computer, or a key you already have.
- Included AI without a keyUse the AI included with your verified Agentfly account without buying or pasting an API key.
- Inline completionGrey text appears ahead of your cursor guessing the rest of what you are writing. Press Tab to take it.
- Keep going until doneWhen the assistant stops at its step limit in the middle of a long job, it carries on by itself instead of waiting for you to say Continue.
- Live agent viewWatch every agent at work in the chat: the code it is writing types in as the model produces it, commands show their output as they run, and agents on a Team pass messages you can see.
- Long chat memory and auto-compactChats remember: reopen one tomorrow, restart Agentfly or switch model, and the assistant carries on where you left off. When a chat gets long, Agentfly summarises the older part so it never runs out of room.
- MCP serverLets AI tools outside Agentfly - Claude Code, Codex, and others - read and write the same project notes.
- Memory captureThe assistant writes down decisions and conventions about your project, so it does not need telling twice.
- ModelWhich particular AI, from that company, answers you.
- Product design guidanceGive the assistant and agents a practical workflow for professional styling, purposeful animation, accessible interactions and verified results.
- Project memoryRead, correct and add to what the assistant has learned about your project - decisions, conventions and preferences - all in one place.
- ProviderChoose included Tagflow AI, a provider with your own key, or a local model.
- Race modeGive the same task to two or three agents at once - different models if you like - then compare their work side by side and keep the best.
- Scheduled AI messagesWrite a prompt now and ask a supported AI target to receive it later while Agentfly is open.
- Slash commands and @ filesType / in the assistant's composer for ready-made commands like /review and /test, or @ to put any project file in the conversation.
- Task token budgetOptionally sets a hard ceiling for one assistant task, checked before each new request can spend your key.
- Team in the terminalSplit one task across several agent CLIs - Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Kimi and the rest - each working in its own terminal pane.
- Terminal agent detectionIf you start an AI tool in Agentfly's terminal, Agentfly notices and offers to share what it knows about the project with it.
- The assistant sees your appThe assistant opens the web app you are building in a browser of its own, looks at any page, clicks and types through it like a visitor, and fixes what it finds.
- What the assistant can doThe assistant can change files, run project checks, inspect responsive layouts and accessibility, keep a dev server running, and show its plan as a checklist.
Git
- BlameShows who last changed each line, and which save it came from.
- Branch switcherWork on a separate copy of the project, so you can try something without disturbing the version that works.
- File timelineEvery past version of the file you are looking at, newest first, in a list you can open.
- Gutter diff decorationsLittle coloured marks in the left margin show which lines you have changed since you last saved them into your project's history.
- Merge conflict resolutionWhen two people changed the same line, this shows you both versions side by side and lets you pick.
- Stage, unstage, and commitPick which of your changes to keep as a set, write a note about them, and save that set into your project's history.
- Your name and email for commitsThe name and email git writes on every commit you make, set in a small form instead of a terminal.
Your session
- Auto-save after delayStop typing for a moment and your file saves itself.
- Crash recoveryIf Agentfly closes unexpectedly, your unsaved typing is still there when it opens again.
- Local file historyAgentfly quietly keeps its own copies of files as you edit them, separate from your project's history.
- Restore workspaceOpen Agentfly again and everything is how you left it - the same folder, the same tabs.
The workbench
- Agents boardHand tasks to AI agents that work at the same time, each in its own copy of your project, and follow them as boxes in Working, Needs you and Ready.
- All FeaturesA searchable library of everything Agentfly can do, with an Open button and a plain explanation beside every feature.
- Ask AI about your codeThe assistant already sees the file you are on, your cursor, your selection and the editor's errors. Ctrl+L adds a selection to the conversation as a chip.
- Built-in terminalA command line inside Agentfly, already pointed at your project folder.
- Changes panelEvery file that changed since your last commit - what the assistant did and what you did - with its line counts, its diff one click away, and one button to commit and push it all.
- Command paletteOne box that can run anything Agentfly does. Type what you want rather than hunting a menu.
- Floating panelsChanges, Preview, the project overview, Team activity and the IDE's assistant open as windows floating over your work instead of sidebars.
- Image previewClick an image file and it shows as a picture instead of text.
- Keyboard shortcutsEvery shortcut can be changed to whatever keys you prefer.
- Live collaborationSomeone else can open the same files at the same time and you both see each other typing.
- Live previewSee a web page you are building in a floating window over your code, updating as you type.
- New project from an ideaDescribe what you want to build, and Agentfly makes a new project folder for it, opens it and starts building.
- Open IDE in a separate windowKeep the Vibe-first launcher where it is and open the full editor-first IDE beside it, on the same project.
- Open source licencesAgentfly's code is open source. This shows the licence it is shared under, and the licences of the other open-source software built into it.
- Report a problem with a debug logWhen something goes wrong, Agentfly records what failed - the assistant, a window, or the app itself - in a debug log you can send with a report.
- RunOne button that runs whatever you are working on, working out the right command by itself.
- StructureA window showing what is inside the file you are reading, and what is inside the project, drawn as a tree with lines joining each thing to what it belongs to.
- Style and markup linksClick a style rule to see the things on the page it changes, or click something on the page to see the rules that style it.
- Tools pageEverything the assistant and your agents can use, as cards: Agentfly's own tools, MCP servers, skills and project memory, with one search across them.
- Universal searchThe search box in the title bar finds Agentfly features, commands, files, recent folders, and symbols together.
- Vibe and Code modesVibe is the default conversation window. Code opens as a separate IDE window for the same project.
- Vibe sidebarThe left side of the Vibe window: start a conversation, switch project, and see at a glance what has changed.
- Welcome: what do you want to build? The first screen asks what you want to build, gets the AI connected if it is not, and builds it.
Appearance
- AppearanceWarm light, charcoal dark, or midnight. System follows your computer's appearance.
- Customise chatChoose the assistant's name and face, whether replies show who wrote them, and how replies sit on the page.
- DensityHow much space there is between things. Comfortable is roomier; compact fits more on screen.
- MotionTurns the window's animation down or up: messages rising in, mascots moving, and code typing into live windows.
- Text sizeMakes the words you read bigger or smaller - code in the editor, the terminal and chat messages - while the rest of the window stays the same size.
- ZoomMakes the whole window bigger or smaller - menus, panels, buttons and text together.
