New project from an idea

The workbench · 2 min read

Describe what you want to build, and Agentfly makes a new project folder for it, opens it and starts building.

When you would want it

You came with an idea, not a folder. Finding or making an empty folder first is a step between you and seeing the idea work.

Where to find it

  • All Features → New project from an idea
  • New project

What you get out of it

  • Start from an idea, not from a folder: there is no empty-folder step between you and a working first version.
  • Every project lives in one place, named after what it is, so you can find it again next week.
  • A question asked with no folder open is just answered - no folder is made for it.

How to use it, step by step

  1. With no folder open, describe what you want built in the chat - for example "build a snake game" or "make a landing page for my bakery".
  2. Agentfly makes a new folder for it in Documents › Agentfly Projects, named after your idea, and opens it.
  3. Your request goes to the assistant, which builds it. Unless you named a framework, it uses plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so it runs in the preview straight away with nothing to install.
  4. You can also run New Project from an Idea from the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P), or use the box on the welcome screen.

Why this beats the usual way

Other editors open on an empty window and expect you to create, name and open a folder before anything happens. Agentfly treats your idea as the starting point.
