Accept suggestion with Enter
Editing · 1 min read
With the suggestion list open, pressing Enter takes the suggestion instead of starting a new line.
When you would want it
It is what makes suggestions fast. It is also the thing that annoys people who wanted a new line, which is why it is its own switch rather than part of suggestions.
Where to find it
- All Features → Accept suggestion with Enter
- Turn on or off
- Settings
What you get out of it
- Fast typists stop paying an extra keystroke for every accepted suggestion.
- It is a separate switch from suggestions entirely, so you tune one habit without losing the other.
How to use it, step by step
- Turn it on in Editing settings - it is off by default, so Enter always starts a new line.
- Type until the suggestion list appears, then keep typing to narrow it.
- Press Enter to take the highlighted suggestion at once.
- Tab still takes suggestions either way.
Why this beats the usual way
Editors that hard-wire Enter to accept suggestions make the trade-off for you. Agentfly treats it as a per-person habit: one switch, and both keys keep a useful meaning.
