Project memory

The assistant · 1 min read

Read, correct and add to what the assistant has learned about your project - decisions, conventions and preferences - all in one place.

When you would want it

Memory you cannot see is memory you cannot trust. When a note is wrong, fixing it once stops every assistant and agent repeating the mistake.

Where to find it

  • All Features → Project memory
  • Open project memory

What you get out of it

  • Stop repeating the same instructions at the start of every conversation.
  • Fix a wrong assumption once, for every assistant and agent that shares the memory.
  • Your notes are plain files in your project, never uploaded.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Open Tools and choose Memory, or run Tools: Project Memory from the command palette.
  2. Read what the assistant has learned, grouped into Decisions, Conventions, Preferences and Session notes, with who wrote each one and when.
  3. Press Edit to correct a note, or Delete to make every assistant forget it.
  4. Press Add memory to teach it something yourself: a short name, a one-line summary and the detail.
  5. To share this memory with Claude Code or another tool, copy the command under Share with your other AI tools and run it once in the project.

Why this beats the usual way

Most assistants either forget everything between sessions or remember in a hidden profile you cannot inspect. Agentfly's memory is visible, editable, stored in your project, and shared with the other AI tools you use.
