Race mode
The assistant · 1 min read
Give the same task to two or three agents at once - different models if you like - then compare their work side by side and keep the best.
When you would want it
One model is often almost right. Trying a few and choosing costs a little more and saves the back-and-forth of fixing an almost-right answer.
Where to find it
- All Features → Race mode
- Start a race
What you get out of it
- Pick the best of several attempts instead of fixing an almost-right one.
- See which model actually does your kind of task best, with evidence, not benchmarks.
- Your project changes once, with the lane you chose.
How to use it, step by step
- Open Agents and press New task, or run Agents: Race Several Agents on One Task from the command palette.
- Describe the task, turn on Race, and tick two or three agents - different models make the race worth having.
- Press Start. Each agent works in its own copy of the project, and its box is labelled Race 1 of 3 and so on.
- When every lane has finished, press Compare on any of them to see each lane's agent, model, cost, proof of work and summary side by side.
- Press Keep this one on the lane you prefer. It is applied to your project; the other lanes are discarded.
Why this beats the usual way
Trying another model normally means copying the prompt into another tool and comparing by eye. Agentfly runs the lanes side by side in isolated copies, shows the proof for each, and applies only the one you keep.
