Keep going until done

The assistant · 2 min read

When the assistant stops at its step limit in the middle of a long job, it carries on by itself instead of waiting for you to say Continue.

When you would want it

Long builds - a whole site, a refactor across many files - can need more than one turn's worth of steps. With this on, you can hand over a big job and come back to it finished.

Where to find it

  • All Features → Keep going until done
  • Turn on or off
  • Settings

What you get out of it

  • Long jobs finish instead of pausing at a step limit while you are away.
  • A hard cap of five continuations keeps a confused run from going on forever.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Keep going until done is on from the start. To change it, open the approval menu in the chat's composer, or find it in Settings.
  2. Give the assistant a big job: a whole site, a refactor across the project, a feature with tests.
  3. If it reaches its step limit, Agentfly sends Continue for it, up to five times in a row, and notes each one in the conversation.
  4. Your own message or Stop resets the count, so you can always step in.
  5. With it off, the assistant stops at its step limit and a Continue button picks up where it left off.
  6. For work that runs without you, schedule the job in Automations - edits apply as it works by default.

Why this beats the usual way

Agents that stop at a step limit and wait for a human turn an overnight job into a morning of pressing Continue. Agentfly carries on by itself, within a limit you can see.
