Type the end of an opening tag and the closing one appears by itself. Type a closing bracket and it finishes the tag you still have open.
When you would want it
Forgetting to close a tag is the most common way HTML breaks, and the error it produces rarely points at the tag you forgot.

What you get out of it
- The most common way markup breaks - a forgotten closing tag - stops happening.
- You never type a closing tag twice; the editor and you stay out of each other's way.
How to use it, step by step
- Type an opening tag like <section> and finish it with >.
- The closing tag appears immediately, cursor left in the middle.
- Type </ to close a tag yourself and Agentfly finishes the rest.
- On by default in HTML, XML, JSX, and template files.
Why this beats the usual way
Editors without this rely on the browser or compiler to catch the imbalance later. Writing the closing tag at the same moment as the opening means the file is well-formed after every keystroke.
