Welcome: what do you want to build?

The workbench · 1 min read

The first screen asks what you want to build, gets the AI connected if it is not, and builds it.

When you would want it

The fastest way to know whether a tool is any good is to watch it make the thing you had in mind.

Where to find it

  • All Features → Welcome: what do you want to build?
  • Show welcome

What you get out of it

  • The first thing you see Agentfly do is build what you asked for.
  • Theme, ad frequency and account wait in Settings instead of standing between you and a first result.

How to use it, step by step

  1. On first launch, type what you want to build, or pick one of the ideas under the box.
  2. Press Build it, or Enter.
  3. If no AI is connected yet, the next step offers the free option - it takes about a minute and needs no card.
  4. Agentfly makes the project, opens it and starts building your idea.
  5. Skip or Escape closes the welcome at any time. Run Show Welcome from the command palette to see it again.

Why this beats the usual way

Terminal, run button, live preview, collaboration, and a command palette that indexes everything: the pieces that make an editor a workbench are built in rather than assembled from extensions, and each one degrades honestly - telling you what is missing instead of failing mysteriously.
