Scheduled AI messages
The assistant · 2 min read
Write a prompt now and ask a supported AI target to receive it later while Agentfly is open.
When you would want it
A reminder that can actually reach the assistant is useful for follow-up reviews, delayed provider windows, and work you want to queue without leaving an agent running.
Where to find it
- All Features → Scheduled AI messages
- Schedule
- Turn on or off
- Settings
What you get out of it
- A follow-up review at 6pm reaches the agent instead of reaching a notepad.
- With several CLIs running in split terminals, each is its own target - so a message written for Codex goes to Codex, not to whichever pane happened to be focused.
- The one-time permission means an agent mid-thought never gets interrupted by something you queued an hour ago.
- Nothing is silently dropped: a message that could not be delivered says so and offers to run.
How to use it, step by step
- Right-click the terminal running your agent and choose Schedule a message, or run Schedule an AI Message from the palette.
- Write the message and pick a local time for it.
- Choose where it goes: the built-in assistant, or any terminal with an agent in it - each one is listed by the CLI running there.
- For a terminal target, right-click it and choose Allow the next scheduled message while its prompt is sitting idle.
- Leave Agentfly open. At the chosen time the message is typed into that target.
- If Agentfly was closed or the target was busy, the message is marked missed and waits for you to choose Run now.
Why this beats the usual way
A reminder app can tell you to prompt your agent. Agentfly actually prompts it - into the right terminal, at the right time, only when that agent is genuinely idle and waiting.
